Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join Illinois Electric Works. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance, generator repair, and automotive repair. Your mechanical knowledge and expertise will be utilized to diagnose and repair equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Responsibilities:
- Repair various industrial apparatus including electric motors, gearboxes, pumps and blowers.
- Perform detailed inspections including precise micrometer measurements
- Perform routine maintenance
- Use diagnostic tools to test electric motor components
- Perform quality inspections prior to assembling the apparatus to the customer
Requirements
- Previous experience as a mechanic
- HS diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic math (addition, subtraction, measurements) skills
- Knowledge of shop equipment including lathes, milling machines
- Able to operate overhead cranes and fork lifts
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
