Job Description
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Field Service actuation technician will conduct assembly, disassembly, set-up, and testing of valve actuators & geared products. They will provide field services for preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning of valve actuators. Some travel will be required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assembly of new and repaired valve actuators & gearboxes.
· Disassemble valve actuators geared products when necessary.
· Accurately measure, inspect, and assess needed repairs.
· Read assembly drawings and workorders to ensure proper actuator set-up.
· Ability to use basic electrical tools and test benches.
· Properly set-up valves actuators to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and other customer requirements.
· The ability to work off verbal and written instructions.
· Ability to operate forklift and crane.
· Conduct safe rigging of materials.
· Safely operate company vehicles and maintain a DOT physical year to year.
· Travel to customer sites when needed to perform work.
· Perform work onsite Georgia Western safe program and site-specific safety programs.
· Other duties related to the assembly & field services department.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
· Mechanical aptitude
· Understanding of basic electrical theories
· Basic math skills
· Read wire diagrams, blueprints & schematics
· Use of forklift
· Use of cranes and rigging
NOT REQUIRED BUT A PLUS:
· Welding
· Manual machining
· Strong Electrical/Mechanical aptitude
· Repair of industrial equipment such as gearboxes, electric motors, pumps.
