- Interprets and analyzes the design brief e.g. logo, print, media, website to generate a feasible range of design and ideas
- Selects and uses correct color systems either CMYK or Pantone Matching System (PMS) to avoid knockout and overprinting
- Selects appropriate software, tools and delivery platform that best suits the design for the user experience
- Selects different file formats and color systems, as well as paper sizes, weights, and stocks
- Deploys graphic design principles of alignment, repetition, contrast, hierarchy and balance in production process
- Selects and uses appropriate file formats like PDF and Packaged InDesign
- Manages and coordinates team member deliverables
- Engages in inquiry of complex data to understand relationships in the context of use
- Determines client expectations, client timeline and budgetary considerations

- Uses negotiation skills to ensure designer earns enough money for the value they deliver to their clients including client ROI analysis and benefits of product (tangible and intangible)
- Builds and manages designer’s own portfolio of product to secure design work

- Understands the impact bleeds, slug, crop, and fold marks, as well as ink limits, dot gains, and transparency and deploys as appropriate
- Uses Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Sketch technology in product production process
- Applies baseline marketing skills to deliver market-specific projects like website landing pages, logos, business cards, and branding
- Applies the correct document set up, graphic design style and typography in a comprehensive layout in line with the specifications of the design brief
- Works closely with UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) Designers, enabling better collaboration to ensure product is built collaboratively
- Utilizes ideation (research, development, evaluation, and application) to generate design ideas and determine design direction
