Required skills

Install duct work components of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
Fabricate and assemble duct work products according to specifications
Measure and cut duct work using hand tools and power tools
Install duct work and other HVAC components in residential new construction homes
Experience with installing refrigerant line sets and condensate drains
Demonstrates the capacity to work collaboratively with others
Applies industry standard procedures for the safe operations and use of common hand tools and manual machinery
View and interpret mechanical drawings
Using Hand Tools and Portable Power Tools
Inspects HVAC system heater ducts, doors, hoses, cabin filters, and outlets; determines needed action
Diagnoses temperature control problems in the HVAC system; determines needed action
Inspects and test HVAC system blower motors, resistors, switches, relays, wiring, and protection devices; determines needed action
Diagnoses malfunctions in the vacuum, mechanical, and electrical components, and controls of the HVAC system; determine needed action
Employs proper problem-solving strategies
