Job Description
Phifer Incorporated has an opening in their Tuscaloosa Warehouse for a Local Truck Driver/ Truck Loader position on 3 pm-11 pm shift. The Local Driver/Designated Truck Loader position in Warehouse Operations will process incoming and outgoing shipments of materials and drive a gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination usually short distances, to transport and deliver products. This includes but does not limit duties to loading or unloading loose or packaged materials on pallets, bins, or any other form of shipping method. The Designated Truck Loader must also insure materials reach their final destination in good condition. The Local driver responsibilities will be driving a tractor-trailer combination to and from our Fayette facility and long haul trips as needed.
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a safe driving record.
- Must pass Department of Transportation physical examination.
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must pass driving test.
- Negative DOT pre-employment drug test.
- Must complete Employer Accident and drug/alcohol testing history.
- Driving Record showing medical certification status

Sensory requirement
Per the FMCSA, a distant binocular acuity of at least 20/40 (Snellen) in both eyes with or without corrective lenses; A field of vision of at least 70 degrees in the horizontal Meridian in each eye; The ability to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing standard red, green, and amber.
