- Employs different treatment methods, such as psychotherapy, hypnosis, behavior modification, stress reduction therapy, psychodrama, or play therapy
- Interprets behavior data graphs and assessment results, and provides recommendations for service delivery
- Collects information about individuals or clients, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other assessment methods
- Addresses personality, social and mental health problems, bearing in mind diversity and multiculturalism, and the contribution of factors such as race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, class, education, religion/spiritual orientation, and other cultural dimensions
- Responds to issues resulting from physical and mental health concerns
