- Plans, coordinates, and directs musical rehearsals and performances
- Performs solo to direct and guide the vocal ensemble members
- Uses mastery of at least one instrument and experience as a solo, chamber, and orchestral performer to develop musical insight and an understanding of music-making from a player’s point of view
- Uses comprehensive knowledge of the orchestral repertoire, as well as chamber orchestra, opera, ballet, and choral/orchestral repertoire to ensure the integrity, authenticity, and quality of a piece
- Employs a detailed knowledge and understanding of all instruments used in orchestral performance
- Uses baton technique to maintain continuity of rhythm, line, structure, and interpretive integrity in the overall performance of a work while evoking and controlling response using gestures at all levels of musical detail
- Discerns the effects of time, place, personality and relevant performance practice upon the way a work should sound and how it should be played to achieve intended effect
- Masters all technical aspects of the performance
- Shapes and blends their sound, creates a shared sense of ensemble, and develops a unique musical interpretation
- Engages in experiencing musical performances of all types to add to the vocabulary of the interpretation
- Uses functional keyboard skill for auditions and rehearsals
- Uses advanced skills in sight-reading and transposition, especially as applied to the preparation of orchestral scores for performance
- Arranges and holds auditions for new musical talent
- Creates an environment conducive to satisfying professional experiences and high- quality performances for musicians effectively with the musicians
- Studies voice, rhythm, tone and tempo of every individual and coaches them individually to improve their musical skills
- Conduct rehearsals in modern European languages

- Schedules staff meetings and provides feedback and suggestions for improvement
- Uses music experience and conducting skills to lead the choir and instrumentalists to achieve optimum effect on music performance
- Uses interpretive skills and instincts, developed and honed through the sequential performance experience as a soloist, chamber musician, orchestral musician and conductor to shape production’s musical direction
- Leads warm-ups before each show
