- Inserts epidurals for obstetric patients

- Obtains informed consent before procedures
- Reads patient chart thoroughly to gain understanding of diagnoses and procedures
- Calculates, initiates, and manages fluid and blood component therapy
- Evaluates the effectiveness of administered medication

- Obtains certification National Certification Examination (NCE) administered by the NBCRNA
- Uses information systems/technology to support and improve patient care

- Provides anesthesia services to all patients across the lifespan
- Maintains/manages patients' airways using intubation, mechanical ventilation, and pharmacological support
- Provides individualized care throughout the perianesthesia continuum

- Recognizes and appropriately manages complications that occur during the provision of anesthesia services
- Discharges patient and provides information/education for follow up anesthetic care
