- Ensures the continuous availability of quality materials and finished components
- Understands output of materials requirement planning (MRP), capacity management, and advanced planning system technologies
- Handles customer pick-ups
- Operates tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping/receiving platform to storage or work areas
- Processes incoming products including unloading, receiving, checking, marking/identification and transporting to storage pick-up areas, workstations, or outbound staging areas and storing products for order-picking
- Maintains internal record-keeping systems

- Complies with height, weight and special handling requirements in stacking, moving, and arranging items on pallets according to storage plans

- Recommends improvements in products, packaging, shipping, service, or billing methods and procedures to prevent future problems
- Executes stock control and housekeeping operations of warehouse cargo and items
- Determines charges for services requested, collects deposits or payments, or arranges for billing
- Follows organizational warehouse operations processes and procedures (WMS)
- Compares information and counts, weighs and measures incoming/outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records
- Ensures adherence to environmental management and systems
- Performs shift pre-inspections as outlined by OSHA on all material handling equipment
- Contacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders
- Assist clients in obtaining insurance reimbursements
- Identifies and follows appropriate PPE requirements
- Presents company products to the customer and provides technical support
- Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and works to solve them
- Schedules large shipments and plans logistics to ensure there is sufficient storage space for incoming items
- Places high-turn items close to packing and shipping areas, which will reduce picking, put-away times, and transportation within the warehouse
- Ensures processes conform to both the needs of the customer base and the characteristic of the product
- Participates in periodic evaluations to maintain processes by gathering pertinent information
- Properly stacks/stores goods according to type of commodity and documentation (bin updates bin and stock cards)
- Records all material movement within the ERP system to ensure 100%+ inventory accuracy
- Organizes and stocks material supplies to meet production requirements and inventory control guidelines in a JIT environment
- Uses 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain) techniques to perform warehouse operations
- Completes contract forms, prepares change of address records, or issues service discontinuance orders using computers
- Assist manufacturing management in the development of meaningful productivity and performance measurements
- Compares shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact
- Brings empty dunnage to the receiving area or to the bailer
- Knowledge of products and services
- Updates receiving log for every shipment
- Calculates prices according to guidelines, and affixes bar codes, prices, and security tags as necessary
- Operates forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
- Packs, seals, labels, or affixes postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter
- Inspect and counts items received and check them against invoices or other documents, recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods
- Operates computers, adding, calculating, billing machines, and hand-held scanners
- Follows and maintains safety, health, and operational quality standards per OSHA regulations
