Scholarships

The AFCEA Mort Marks ROTC Scholarship is presented annually to an ROTC student attending a university located in the AFCEA Mid-South Region of the United States: to include, the states of; Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and northwest panhandle of Florida who is a student in the Air Force option. Applicants must major in a STEM-related area of study in support of the mission of AFCEA. They must have the potential to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces. Two letters of recommendation from faculty in the major of study and a letter of nomination from ROTC unit professor of military science, professor of naval science, professor of aerospace studies or designated commanding officer must be submitted as a PDF form via email. Optionally, applicants may also submit a third letter of recommendation or a resume. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information about the scholarship and eligible majors for study.

NEHS offers one-year, non-renewing scholarships from a $75,000 fund to graduating NEHS seniors planning to study any subject at a two-year or four-year college/university anywhere in the world. All applicants for NEHS Scholarships are required to read the Common Reader and submit an original essay based on one of the prompts provided by the Advisory Council in November. Applicants will also have to complete two additional questions as part of their application.

Sponsors scholarships and actively promotes the education of eligible students aspiring to enter the Hospitality, Foodservice, Senior Living and related industries.

The NEWH Green Voice Design Competition provides students with the opportunity to showcase their design skills while utilizing the very best in sustainable design products and practices. Our sponsors have generously donated the awards – one to the winning undergraduate student and one to the winning graduate student with airfare/lodging to the awards event at BDNY in New York in November.

This is a grant covering tuition, fees, books and supplies for dependents and eligible spouses of Alabama police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty. 

The Renee Starks Steed Memorial Scholarship is open to current sophomores, juniors, or seniors, who attend an HBCU (Historically Black College or University) and major in fashion, fashion marketing, textile, and apparel design, or a similar area of study.

The Ron Brown Scholarship honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans. 

The Sacks for CF Scholarship is related to quarterback sacks made during the NFL season. The undergraduate and graduate award is made annually to recipients who strive for therapy adherence and academic success.

“Sacks for CF” means money in the bank for college students who have cystic fibrosis.

For every sack recorded during NFL Monday Night Football games, the Sacks for CF Scholarship Program receives a donation from a Boomer Esiason Foundation corporate partner.

The Samuel Huntington Public Service Award provides $30,000 stipends to graduating college seniors to pursue public service anywhere in the world. The Award allows recipients to engage in a meaningful public service activity for one year before proceeding on to graduate school or a career. Past award recipients have won an unsolicited, prestigious McArthur “genius” grant; been named U. S. Surgeon General; and been recognized as a Forbes “30 Under 30” entrepreneur.
